Maya Khonje-Stewart has over 15 years’ experience in the private and NGO sector of Malawi with innate skills in business development, sales and logistics, project management, financial management and lobbying. She prides herself on being an initiative-taker and an enthusiastic social entrepreneur.
Maya co-founded a solar retail business in 2018, Yellow, which has grown to become the biggest distributor of solar home systems in Malawi with over 550 agents employed and over 90,000 systems sold. Maya championed Project Khumbo to address gender equality and access to digital literacy for 400 women in Malawi who received smartphones and resultant job opportunities.
